Hey everyone, i have the gammaxx 400 120mm cpu cooler, and i was wondering if can replace the stock fan with one of https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ubanner-Wireless-Controller-Coolers-Radiators/dp/B07B3Z4992/ref=asc_df_B07B3Z4992/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310802245808&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3196768121617908299&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006613&hvtargid=pla-564023927704&psc=1

these rgb fans. Would it work plugging in the fan to the fan controller that comes with these instead of the cpu header? Also, to save you some time these are 700-1500 rpm fans.

Cheers, D2

Yes and no. Yes you can attach it to it and it will work. But you shouldn't

These fans run at a set rpm you set and are not controlled by the system so if the cpu needs more cooling it cannot ramp up the fan so it may start to overheat and throttle. These are also not really meant for coolers but as decorative air movers.

The fan on the Pure Rock is also 1500 rpm so would it make a difference?

What about with a liquid cooler like the iceberg 120mm, would it matter if i used the fan for that?

All the same. You are seriously gimping the ability to cool. Btw the iceberg 120mm is going to perfrom the exact same or even a bit worse compared to your cooler now.

RGB fans usually have two cables, one for PWM fan and other for RGB. Best bet is to connect fan speed to CPU header regardless of the fan chose.
