Use diskpart in the command line.

Open Command Prompt or PowerShell as Administrator

1. diskpart

2. list disk

3. select disk * (replace the * with the number of the disk - WARNING please make sure it is the correct number because you could wipe the wrong disk!!!)

4. clean

5. exit

Open Disk Management in Administrative Tools under Control Panel (or right click Start > Disk Management)

It will ask you to initialize a disk, select GPT (GUID Partition Table) and click OK. Then right click the disk that has a black Unallocated Space and click New Volume, then go through and use NTFS, 4096, Quick Format ON, give it a name, click Finish.

Done.
