Smartthings WIFI

So I am trying to use a TL-R600VPN as the router into my home network but my Samsung Smartthings WIFI access points will not link to it. I have played around with all the settings, tried to add the MAC address's and no luck.  Any thoughts on how to make this work? Or a better router to use that would allow me to plug into a switch and my 3 Smartthings WIFI hubs so I don't have to use one of them as my router.

Access point can be a headache to setup for different brands.

It's easier to just buy a all in one router-wifi combo.
