XB1 d-pad help

The up direction on my XB1 controller's d-pad is starting to act up in that sometimes when I press it nothing happens.  Usually if I hit multiple times, or hit the other directions first and then hit up, it starts to work again.  Could something be wrong with the connector point/pad on the pcb under the d-pad or would just replacing the pad fix this kind of thing.   The controller is one of the blue Forza edition controllers btw.
