Gpu troubleshooting

Hi! 

 

I want to build a cheap computer and I'm going quite well but I'm planning to use a 2yr gpu that has been sitting collecting dust and the dye is exposed. Should it still work or just buy a new one. Btw it's an Asus r9 390 8gb card

I don't see why it wouldn't still work, as long as you still have the cooler for it (as you say the dye is exposed I guess that the cooler has been removed)

 

The only question is if the integrated gpu in some G series Ryzen chips wouldn't actually be better than your 390. Depending on your cpu choice you could have a look into that topic

My spec would be:

2x8gb ddr4 ram 

Cooler master 500w psu

Intel core i3 9100f

And an asrock b365m motherboard 

I also kinda want to get into 3d animation so I think a gpu would be a nice touch.
