so im a little over 24 hrs of owning an asus 290x and for a few minuts on and off im getting a line of small blocks small wite dots on the side of a window and some other similar wierdness only video in a non full screen browser was used in the last 10 min of being on. but moving the window over it or moving the window cleared it only happened randomly for a min or 2 . gpu tweak says max 48c max 99% usage curently at 0% fan max20%  max clock 1050 min 300 and idling at 312 and memory is bouncing between 600 and 5400. its at stock settings no oc and  the switch is on performance.

It's almost impossible for me to say whether it's faulty or not because i can't see what's happening and haven't troubleshooted it myself but test a bunch of games and benchmarks and if you can test it in another PC.

run it at a lower clock or at stock and adjust the fan speed to be higher than the stock setting

RMA? why not just try lowering the memory clock using an overclocking tool like MSI Afterburner, I have this issue with my video card because EVGA is sooo hellbent on overclocking past stability.

clock speeds are at 5400mhz stock settingd

 

no it didnt but i also didnt have the mantle driver on more than a few hrs of use on my 7870 and it only happened for a short time is it possible its an issue with the beta driver or another app.

i played games and ran bench marks yesterday to compare performance and didnt see anything  yesterday only that my physics score is lower with this card installed vs the 7870 direct cu.

 

also i have asus gpu tweak which i beleive is the same as msi afterburner just different skin.

also its fine 97% of the last 40 min ive been on.

 

and the heat pipe is hot as hell but that means it working as far as i know since its at 38c and the max ive seen it as at 50-60 ish but that was during the 3dmark firestrike test

i dont even want gpu tweak realy as i dont overclock but im not sure what to use to monitor card .

ummm not wanting to overclock? its automatic and safe

uninstall GPU tweak and install afterburner it has great monitoring tools

isnt asus card already overclocked?? also i just tried to run 3d mark and screens went out and computer didnt come back. restarted pc and 3d mark is running with out issues well other than stupid asus product registration page imterupting it the first time cuz im to lazy to un install it.

so ive reset my pc a while back ran 3dmark 2 times and have been using handbrake with a few yotube videos and no issues seem to be showing up as before knock on wood
