I built this pc 10 months ago on my own.

The specs are:

  • amd ryzen 2600X with be quiet dark rock 4 cooler
  • GTX 1060 gaming
  • Msi b350 tomahawk plus
  • 2x 8gb ram
  • Air cooled

So at first the cpu and motherboard were not compatible, so i went back to the seller and they have done an update so they would work.

10 months later, yesterday, everything worked fine, until this morning when the red light on my motherboard for CPU went on again. I get no display but everything seems to work fine. Gpu, ram and fans got rgb working and all fans work as usual, just no display.

So i checked the cables, put everything in and out again, nothing changed.

Checked CPU power multiple times, that should be fine.

I took the cpu out, checked the pins, everything fine, cleaned the cpu and cooler from thermal paste and put some new paste on it.

Cleared cmos, didnt change anything.

I dont know what else i can do around the cpu, it's driving me crazy

It's probably not the CPU, but the mobo.

Did you overclock the system any?

There should be on the mobo a BIOS reset button/switch/jumper. I'd start there

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Did you try anything with the ram?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I have not overclocked the system. Doesn't the cmos reset reset the bios too?

I haven't changed anything about the ram before the error occurred. After the error i tried pulling 1 out and placing the one stick in one of the 4 spots. That didnt make the pc work
