So I just got fallout 4 vr downloaded. And I really honestly cant play it right now. My first issue and main one is the fps, it is locked at 40fps and wont go above this. This SUCKS in vr. Oh yeah, I need to tell you want i'm running. I have an i7 6700, 8gb ddr4, and a 1660ti. And of course the headset is the oculus rift s. I have looked and really couldn't find fixes for it. It is a complete killer of a good experience. Ask any questions you have.

The Rift S defaults to 40fps if your computer can't maintain 80fps.

I used a i7 6700k with a GTX 980 ti when the game came out and I had a hard time maintaining 60fps everywhere at 1440p. A Rift S resolution is a lot higher than 1440p(2172 X 2016).

You will need to lower settings to get the game going.

In SteamVR settings go to applications tab and pick Fallout 4 VR. Then you will see a slider that can lower the resolution. It is set to 2172 X 2016 at 100% by default.
