Hi All,

I recently got a new laptop with windows 10 from acer( I has 9750h and rtx 2070 if that has any effect). As its a new laptop, I have tried to install new software on it. But I can only install some files, whereas other .exe and .msi are not working (some of my University software + 7zip, corsair icue). Every time I try to open either .msi or .exe it comes up with "installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installation package. I have tried to open the file via CMD and .bat file but nothing works. Same error.

I have however, found ways to install .msi files. THe .msi has to be in a boot drive ( C:) and it will open fine then ( it does request admin permission to move the file into C: drive, which my account is). With .exe I have to extract the .msi. Normal .exe doesnt work at all. I assume that when opening .exe, windows decompresses the .msi into temp folder which I cannot install from.

Does anyone know how to fix this weird admin rights issue? I have tried to create another admin account with the same results. It only wants to be opened from c drive.
