Linus had recently accentuated the outrageous US roaming fees that the big three in Canada charge. Windmobile has recently pushed out a new $15 US roaming package that include unlimited talk, text and UNLIMITED data(4g, not lte). Thought my fellow Canadians might be interested in this.

Wind Mobile, one of the smallest players in Canada’s wireless market, said on Thursday that it is offering a new low-cost unlimited U.S. roaming plan, a traditionally lucrative niche for its much larger competitors.

Wind, backed by Europe’s Vimpelcom Ltd., said it would offer customers unlimited data, talk and text while travelling in the United States for $15 a month.

The premium U.S. travel pack offered by Rogers, the largest Canadian wireless carrier, is a $300 add-on that gives its users 500 minutes of talk-time, 1 gigabyte of data and unlimited sent text messages.

The cheapest Rogers U.S. travel pack for talk, text and data is currently $40 a month. And in comparison, it offers just 50 minutes of talk-time, 200 megabytes of data and unlimited sent text messages. Bell has separate $20 add-ons for talk and text.

Telus’ top-of-the-line U.S. travel plan is a $65 add-on for 300 minutes of talk-time, 300 MB of data and unlimited text messages. Bell offers a $30 voice and text package with 100 minutes of talk, 1000 sent text messages, and unlimited incoming messages. It sells a separate $50 pack for 500 MB of data.

I apologize if this is a double post.

It's the same thing the UK carrier Three is doing, It uses your regular contract for talk texts and data in 13 or so countries now.

So glad this is finally happening, fed up of roaming charges.

I'm more fed up with the oligopoly (ahem monopoly) to be honest.

I have everything unlimited with them too for $24(signed up in 2011). It's funny how us roaming is cheaper than domestic roaming with them due to rogers having leverage over them. If you go over 5 gigs at least you aren't charged, you are simply throttled.

As far as I am aware there isn't a carrier that has "4G" yet, Verizon is still two releases away from meeting the specs, so there is your catch if they truly won't let you use LTE data.

Now... whats to stop a US citizen from getting this plan to regain unlimited data? Lol.

The only issue is, Wind has godawful service in Canada.
