Hey everyone,

I am working on a new project in my home and I am looking for some advice. So I am going to buy the new Mac Pro and I want to put it in my server room, but I want to have the workstations in multiple rooms. So there would be 3 monitors in 3 different locations as well as keyboards and mice. I was thinking using thunderbolt 3 to a dock but I dont think they make cables long enough. There is an unlimited budget for this project so no idea is to expensive. I would love to know what everyone thinks.

Thanks

That is what I want it to do. I would only be using one at a time

Quote me when you respond and I will notice quicker. If that is all you want, your only challenge is Thunderbolt cable length. You will probably need an optical Thunderbolt cable.

Yeah that is thunderbolt 2. The other problem is that my home is rough 14k square feet so that is not long enough.

Yeah, if your house is 14,000 square feet (about 5.7x larger than the average American home, you have a giant house), you may need to look into some kind of network based solution. Otherwise, you may just need to get 3 Mac Pros.

Yeah where I live the homes are very large. What network based solutions would you recommend?

I am hoping not to have to do those kinds of solutions but it seems that may be my only option. Thanks

No problem. Maybe something with optical Thunderbolt has come out since I last looked into it and can work for you. Let me know how it works out as I am very interested.
