On my old laptop my eGPU ran fine through the mpcie slot on the motherboard, but when I try to plug it into the pcie slot on my new laptop it does this:

I think it is an issue with the graphics card trying to go through the internal display and not a white list issue, because the laptop runs fine without the network card in the pcie slot. When this happens there is no display out on the graphics card. The laptop is an HP EliteBook 840. Please help, Thank you.

I'm not understanding this whole pcie stuff. I know it's what the graphics card is plugged into but maybe your laptops display cable is damaged? it's like that on my chromebook but not on my alienware

Pc value: 9999999$. Alienware 15 r2: 16GB Ram ddr3, Intel Core i-7 4110HQ @ 3.5ghz, gtx 970m, 1 TB HDD *for games*, 120GB SSD *for windows*.

fastest boot time, 6.5 seconds
