So don't have specifics at the moment but I am planning on wiping and building a raid 10 setup using our Dell T320 with PERC H710 for RAID.

If I'm being honest this area of knowledge is pretty new to me but I am quick to learn and this is a task I must get done.

I currently have 4 brand new 1TB WD RED drives and will be ordering another 4 next week but I need to get RAID 10 up and running tomorrow while I have it properly scheduled. Is it possible to setup the 4 drives in RAID 10 then add the other 4 and reconfigure it to include those drives or is there a better solution?

I appreciate all advice.

Also ignore my profile picture. Been on google for years.

Nested raid arrays can not by design be reconfigured after setup.

Having said that, there are a couple controllers floating about that can apparently expand a existing raid 10 array.

The H710 being one of them. Iirc it's a simple case of adding the disks in Dell's disk mgnt utility and rebuilding the array.

I recommend even if the dell management utility lets you expand the array, that you make sure you have good (meaning: tested) backups for the data before starting it.

Looking to buy GTX690, other multi-GPU cards, or single-slot graphics cards:

I appreciate the answers. Waiting for 4 more drives to come in. Saturday is the goal to get everything knocked out. As far as data goes, I am migrating everything off the main server to a secondary server and running it from there. Most of the programs we use are standalone so only relies on the endpoints compatibility. Our servers use is pretty much just glorified storage. All should go well. I've done my research on what I've needed to do and I do have a complete working clone of the server incase something explodes and I die.
