Will be working from home full time in about a month. I want to be able to use my home gaming PC ( i5 3570k no-oc, 8GB ram, gtx 1080 ) and my company laptop ( dell latitude e6430 docking station, display port ) on the same monitor. For productivity I currently have my eye on the LG 43ud79-b 43" 4k monitor. Being able to have 4 21" pages at a time would be great for work. For gaming I am aware that I will not be able to max settings but med/high 60hz would be fine for me. So I guess my few questions. Number 1. will this setup work the way I am hoping? Number 2. should i use a kvm ( level1tech 4k 60hz ) or just use a shareable usb switch for the keyboard (Das 4 Pro) and mouse (Logitech g502) and just change the source when I am working? Any questions, ideas, comments, and recommendations would be appreciated, thanks.

I dont think any of the igp options for ivy bridge support 4k over displayport.

It should otherwise work fine, just switch the input on the monitor between the two as needed.

The easier way to handle this would be some kvm software like synergy but a hardware switch works just as well.

Thanks for the reply. Computer hardware specifics are not a strong area for me. If 4k is not supported over displayport with ivy bridge igp how will this affect my setup?
