RAM frequency

I have 2 sets of ram. 16gb 2666mhz and 16gb 3200mhz. ive had them both installed separately now. the 2666 registers in cpuz as 2666 but the 3200 comes in at 2400 im not sure whats going on. please help

It'll auto-run at 2400MHz most of the time, you need to enable XMP (DOCP on AMD) or manually OC to the speed/timings on the sticks to see that full speed. Are you running both in the same rig or separate rigs? 

Also keep in mind most 1000 series Ryzens don't work with higher than 2933Mhz RAM unless it's very specific kits and you're kinda lucky.

same rigs just swapping ram. i did not know first gen did go above 3000mhz

Well specifically 2933Mhz, straight 3000MHz is usually unstable. On my R5 1600 I ran my 3000Mhz CL16 stuff with the XMP profile, but manually changed the speed to 2933Mhz. You can either do that or manually tweak it and see if you can get slightly tighter timings at the lower speed. If you can run 3000/2933Mhz at CL15, that's the same effective speed as 3200Mhz CL16 IIRC.

can i overclock the 2666 to match the frequency of 3200mhz so they both meet at 3000mhz?

Maybe, but you'll have an extra tough time of it because Ryzen (all of them AFAIK) also hates more than 2 sticks of RAM at higher speeds. So running 4 sticks and trying to OC them won't go very well.

so would it be better to speed up the 2666 or slow down the 3200

If you're trying to run all 4 sticks at the same time? Probably drop them all to 2666, but do you need 32GB RAM? In games and such you'll get much better performance just running the 3200Mhz kit at 2933Mhz CL15. Ryzen is highly dependent on RAM speed, especially Zen (1000 series and 2000G series CPUs) and Zen+ (2000 series and 3000G series CPUs).

Ok so let's just settle on 16gb 3200mhz clocked down to 2933. What is the full timing settings that I need to change in the bios. My ram say the CL is at 16;18;18;18;36

IDK, there's no set working numbers, varies by RAM and voltage and all sorts of stuff. I assume there's a guide on DDR4 OCing on YouTube, that's where I'd look. I've never actually OCed my DDR4 because I'm mostly on Intel and that really doesn't get bothered by RAM speed until you hit some pretty nuts clocks. 

When I OCed my DDR3 I had to change settings by 1, reboot, run a memtest, if that was unstable then go back and see what's up. You should be feeding your RAM 1.35v, 2933Mhz, and I'd try 15-16-16-34 for starters, see if you can bring everything down by 1 and the last one by 2.
