Hej folks, I'm thinking of buying a second NVME and I'd like to know whether my mainboard and CPU can support it.

Mainboard: MSI X470 Gaming Plus

CPU: AMD 3700X

The mainboard seems to support PCIe 2.0x4 according to the spec sheet and according to this website (PCIe 2.0 bandwith), up to 2.000MB/sec would be possible. So the Intelp 660P would make any problems, right? Can some software or configuration issues come up with this? Can I run this drive on PCIe 2.0x4 without much of performance lost?

as long as you are running something in the PCIe slot it shares or are gonna use it as a boot drive, then there is no issue.

I don't want to use it as my boot drive. What consequences does it have?

I have a Wi-Fi card next to it, but I'm not using it any longer.

It a touch slower theoretically, but not really.

Other than that, none.

As along as the card doesbt share the same slot as the SSD you should be fine.

I wanna get a 2nd NVME m.2 drive, primarily for booting games. I have one setup as a boot drive already.

I have the AMD 2600X, the x470 Gigabyte Ultra Gaming Mobo and a 2080Ti.

Question is, would a 2nd NVME lower my FPS as in slow down my GPU?

nope. second NVMe would run on the chipset and it doesnt take lanes away from the GPU or others.
