as far as a budget i dont really have one set in stone, but like most people i want something that feels like a super overpriced monster of a prebuilt without having to pay a million times more for it then you should.

i figured i could easy get away with a gaming rig ide be more satisfied for 1500 dollars

i like the clean cases and not to picky about glass
air cooling is fine as the room my pc is currently in is around 17-20 degrees C (64-68 in F)
the only really important bit is having a gpu that is cost efficient and will happily run the games i play on higher settings

Intel build

AMD build

Note that the AMD build gets a 2080 super instead of a 2080, and a better case.

Hey guys, i have been doing some shopping around online looking at pre-built machines from various places and from experience i know that these options are usually a lot more cost effective for someone that doesn't really know what they are doing and was looking for people that could offer a more "me" kind of build without having all the negatives of DIY

As far as build goes, this is a machine intended for mostly gaming and occasional content streaming. i have no plans to do any sort of video/graphics editing, crypto mining, ect.
Kinds of games i play range from smaller less intense graphically demanding games (runescape or terraria) up to games my current computer cant run very well beyond medium/low like world of warcraft, starcraft 2, apex

ideally ide want the following things but ide happily be willing to compromise on function for affordability and compatibility

-intel processor of either 4 or 8 core
-4 slot motherboard for future expansions
-16 gb ram
-several usb slots
-mid size tower or smaller (full towers that aren't bulky, or heavy acceptable)
-air cooling

(This is something i ended up with on ibuypower but with a price tag of around 1700$) (note: i really dislike liquid cooling)

I know i could defiantly do a lot better in terms of price buying part for part from places like newegg and amazon but i was hoping you guys can go further and do either much better for a similar price, or better full from scratch set up job

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated here! thanks guys

1700$ for an i7 and 2060S is a highway robbery. Do NOT buy that under any circumstances. It makes apple machines look like good value by comparison

a little search later

500 i7
540-570 2060 super
120 for ram
200-300 for a board
40 fan
90 ssd

im already up to 1500$ and i dont even have a case

what would you recommend i part swap those items for?

where are you getting these prices? they're so high. Try PCPartPicker.com, it has a great price comparison tool.

This would be an excellent build from scratch, it lacks an Intel processor but AMD has the same performance for less. It fulfills all your criteria.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

if being "not a fan" means you're ok with getting no benefit for extra money then by all means. Just bear in mind that you're paying a premium price for the same experience.

I changed some part selections around for a locked i7, if you plan on overclocking it the parts list would look pretty different. I also added a modular PSU for ease of building, and bumped up the GPU. What kind of budget do you plan on working with?

if you really and truly do recommend the cheaper alternative of the 6 core ryzen and 2080 super over 8 core intel and bace card then i will certainly look into building it over the other...
the only discrepancy is while your build has a price of $1400 im guessing your american, the price for me is around $1950 but again as i have no fixed budget that is not a problem at all

(all the prices for parts i listed earlier are also in canadian dollars, which is why the seemed so high lmao)
