Should I wait for 5G

I’m struggling to decide if I should upgrade my phone this year or wait another year until more phones are 5G compatible. Right now 5G coverage is minimal in the US. But even if more phones are 5G compatible next year, would there be enough coverage to justify waiting?

 

Kinda think that carriers are waiting for 5G phones and phones are waiting for 5G coverage. Also the US-China spat over Huawei has slowed 5G adaptation and that’s not going away.

Personally, I’m kind of wondering what justifies 5G existing, but if you can wait for better selection, no harm in doing so

^^^ Given that they're not bothering to beef up 4G LTE coverage (which is already fast enough for what most people do with their phones/cellular enabled iPads and such), I doubt 5G will have good coverage for a while unless you're in bigger cities where they push it out quickly.
