PC Shuts down when opening some programs (Not Overheating)

OK... this client brought this computer that when opening some programs it shuts down

It's not sudden, it doesn't lose power or anything like that, it shuts down as if it was normally turning off.

It's like when you click on the shutdown button,
I tryed rebooting and going in safe mode and disabling everything, i don't have admin permissions and can't open regedit.

I Thought it was because of a program called Registry Mechanic, because when i tryed to unninstall it the computer shuts down. but the problem persists.

Anyone knows how to solve it?

PS: The client requested expressively that she does not want the computer to be formatted.

Did you stop the registry mechanic while it was working

Also i'm pretty sure it's not temperature, it is quite cool, not above 60C degrees (I measured it with a laser termometer we've got for checking chipset temperatures)

When i tryed to stop it the PC rebooted.

I booted up in Security Mode and removed it. There was no problem. Then i tryed booting up normally the problem persisted

It sounds like you damaged the registry getting rid of it maybe, it's a perfectly legit application

No... actually nothing changed after removing it. The program wasn't used by the client anyway.

removing it didn't fix the issue, but also it didn't make it worse.

It's overheating.

joking ;) Have you tried a fresh windows install? if you don't want to lose any files then boot of a secondary HDD with a fresh windows installed on that. I think that it's something to do with the registry, I think that there are some registry fixers out there. Try accessing the browser by hitting START+R and type in iexplore.exe. Yes sadly you're going to have to use internet explore

Download Malwarebytes and run a scan. Also, you said it's not overheating, but just blow out the dust anyways.

Try booting of another drive just to see that it is software.

I like this idea.

Make an admin account then remove it when you're done?

Boots normally, it is software indeed.

When I try to run, the PC restarts.

And i blowed the computer when it got here, more for it to be clean than for temps (Hate working on Dusty PCs)

You could try running windows repair with install dvd. It doesn't affect files or non-windows software and repairs most problems related with OS.

Well... Seems like it is solved:

backed up everything, cloned the HDD using Acronis True Image, and then put the HDD on another computer, got kaspersky to do some of the work, did a CHKDSK /F /R on the drive, and got the windows archives from a fresh installation, it didn't reboot anymore :D

(The permissions for the user is still a mystery, but when I created another user it had all the permissions again)

Connect another HDD with MBAM installed to format the main partition if possible ;)

If crashing in the other HDD then it is the hardware problem

Click the like button if I helped you, it only takes 0.5 seconds and does not cost anything!
