First build suggestions please!

I have a 1080p 120hz monitor and was hoping to get a solid gaming/occasional CAD rig for US$1000-1200 (plus Windows and peripherals). Is anything way too expensive for the build? Is there a better backlit keyboard and/or mouse for cheap-ish? Any and all comments and criticism would be extremely helpful!

Change the board to an Asus TuF X570. Better VRM thermals and much better firmware/BIOS.

 

Also, the CX-M is worse quality than the CX non-M. Get a CX550 or TXm 550

You're also overpaying for storage. Instead of the expensive Evo and separate low end Barracuda, get a 2TB Western Digital Blue SSD or a Crucial MX500 2TB.

 

You can also get a custom RX 5700 since it's faster than the 2060 Super and usually cheaper

I was thinking of going pure 2TB SSD rather than a 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD but I'd you insist on NVMe for some reason then might as well ke p it as is

The above list is solid. I'd only add an Arctic Freezer eSports 34 so that PBO can be run to the max

yeah I like @VEXICUS build.  No way a motherboard should be more than the CPU, as in the OP.

Is there something to be said for getting a more recent X570 motherboard for upgrades with future gens? Also @5x5 I was looking at SATA SSDs and they were still that expensive. What price should they be?

An Asus X570 TuF is all you need. As for SSDs - SATA should be 1$/GB or so
