Hey everyone.

I just recently replaced one of my fans because it was making a buzzing sound and everything seemed to be fine. I cleaned out the PC, dusting it down nicely with compressed air and a microfiber cloth. Completely silent.

I decided to open up a game and play, in this case it was Warframe. Immediately when I get to the login screen this new different sounding buzzing started. I thought it was the new fan I put in, but it's not. I checked all the fans, changing their speed to 0 and 100% but it wasn't any of the fans. If I tab off warframe, the sound IMMEDIATELY stops. When I tab back in, it IMMEDIATELY starts again.

At this point I opened up the case and tried to pinpoint the sound. I first thought it would be the graphics card, but the sound seemed to be coming from the AIO block on the CPU. They're kind of close, so I could be wrong.

After this, I messed with a couple things, making sure no wires were in the way of fans, GPU was in all the way, cables all plugged in, etc. I then fired up Cinebench to see if I put a load on the CPU if the sound would start. Nothing. I then fired up Heaven benchmark to stress the GPU. Nothing. No sound at all. Opened Warframe again, sound starts at login screen.

I then ran Final Fantasy XIV. The sound was there, but not as bad. I suppose it's a less demanding game. Any thoughts?

Here are my parts, if anyone is curious. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bKw6Hh?fbclid=IwAR3gAFlkGpJYjdiO6fI6xUeU9cv_dELscCsoag9yETQXfTemIeqhTfj5E7c

Thanks!

I downloaded Afterburner, lowered my fans as far as I could (25%) but the sound was still there while in game. Jacking up the fan speed didn't effect the volume of the buzz. I then tabbed out of the game and the buzzing sound stopped. I tested the gpu fan speed again at 25% and stepped it up by about 10% each time to listen to the sound. No buzzing sound at all. Tabbed back in the game and the buzzing immediately started again. I don't think it's my GPU fans.
