Hi guys!

Just wondering which RAM would be best suited for my upcoming build.

I'm looking to attach it to a 3700X with an Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus. This build will primarily be used for photo editing (Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom)

I've heard Ryzen can be picky with RAM choice, so it would be great to get some opinions from those who know their stuff.

Current choices:

Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x16GB) 3200 - $175

Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x16GB) 3000 - $155

G.Skill Sniper X 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR4 3600Mhz - $155

Other?

Keep in mind that I have no idea about timing specs and what they do. Also, how much does the RAM speed matter? Will I notice much difference between the 3000-3200-3600?

I don't want to blow cash on RAM, so any cost saving tips would be helpful.

Thanks!

considering the fact that the 3600mhz is cheaper than the 3200 kit, I'd get that. You said you'd like to save money so thats what I'd personally do.

noctua nh-d15s chromax w black cover

3200mhz cl16 rated. 3000mhz cl15 will be the same, I got 3200mhz because it's cheaper here. It runs 4000mhz easy though.

With ryzen anything above 3733 is not recommended, as the infinity fabric would run in 2:1 mode and your memory latency will shoot up. That would literally defeat the purpose of faster RAM. Running 3800MHz in 2:1 mode is 1900MHz in 1:1 mode(1:1 is the regular mode) which is awfully slow.

3600MHz is the max you should be aiming for, better to decrease timings than increase clocks when your RAM is above 3000MHz

That is true, but im just stating what the memory can do. And its always best to increase clocks as high as they go until timings go bad on any platform.

On Ryzen 3000 anything above 3733 will decrease performance. It's not about the memory brand/model that is related to the OC performance, but the die they're using. There are tons of memory models using Samsung B-Die(best for overclocking) which can all hit 3600CL14 etc.

Some cpus can do 1900mhz fclk making 3800 superior, and crucial ballistix sport lt uses Micron Rev.E which usually does 3600 cl15 easy for a great price while being extremely easy to drive. And not all b-die can do 3600mhz, heck, some cant do 3466mhz.

people who get b die that can't do 3466 must be extremely extremely unlucky

3200 cl14 should be more than enough for OP though(vengeance lpx should be able to do that without issue)
