WiFi Problems??

SO... My wifi is terrible. Part of my problem is my isp but at the moment thats just unfixible. I believe its my wifi adapter. I am currently using an ASUS PCE-AC51 dual band adapter and its causing my problems. Its connectivity with my internet is non-existent. Im currently typing this on my hotspot. My Xbox one S (that is inches away from my PC) connects fine, but i cant connect to my wifi at all on my pc. Yes, i know Ethernet would fix my problem but thats not possible in my current situation. Help me! Please.
