Alright so here is the issue, recently i have attained a better computer along with the rest of my family, two of the systems have identical parts apart from the GPU,and the third one is irrelevant for this post, however once all of the PCs have both been tested with Cinebench and just general gaming and video rendering, one of them has shown to have massively higher temperatures than the other, and i just wish to know if this is something to actually worry about,or if it's supposed to run at these temps.

Shared parts:

1.AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

2.KINGSTON DIMM DDR4 8GB 2933Mhz HYPER X FURY x2

3.GIGABYTE B450M rev 1.0 Motherboard

4.KINGSTON 240GB M.2 NVMe SA1000M8/240G SSD A1000 series

5.NJOY AGON  600 600W PSU

6.Both have CPU Wraith coolers that came out of the box (No idea if there are different models)

7.Both have all of the Case fan mountings filled with respectively sized MS PC WIND RING LED fans.

Parts specific to PC1 (Good PC)

1.MSI Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB

2.COOLER MASTER MasterBox MB600L Computer Case. (2x 120mm fans on the front pulling inside, single 140mm fan on the back pulling outside)

Parts specific to PC2 (Troublesome PC)

1. AMD RX 480 8GB 1279 Mhz (God knows i don't remmember the manufacturer anymore, this card was bought like two years ago,all i know is that it's not a reference 480,it's a dual fan variant)

2. MS PARAMOUNT Industrial pro RGB Computer Case (PC2 used to have the same case as PC1,however the temperatures were reaching 95 degrees C on both the GPU and CPU,so that had to be changed then and there)

3.PC case has x2 120mm fans on the front pulling inwards,x2 120mm fans on the top pulling outwards,1x 140mm fan on the rear pulling outwards (Fan placement wouldn't fit on 2. :3)

Alright so now the issue in detail,PC1 is reporting 45C idle on the CPU and 48C idle on the GPU whilst both hang around 65 under load,PC2 However hangs around 55C idle on CPU and 50C idle on the GPU,whilst CPU reaches 75C on load and GPU reaches 85C on load.

Quick summary PC1:

1. IDLE-45C CPU,48C GPU

2. LOAD-65C CPU and GPU

Quick summary PC2:

1.IDLE-55C CPU,50C GPU

2.LOAD-75C CPU,85C GPU

Both of these systems were tested with cinebench for the CPU and two seperate games for the GPU and CPU (Warframe and Remnant from the ashes),the temperature was recorded with Ryzen Master for the CPU and MSI Afterburner for the GPU.

Now what i wish to know if the temperatures here make sense, because honestly the person who assembled these computers has had to bring PC2 in for system repairs TWICE (BSOD whilst idling),and the computer case on PC2 was changed because the temps BEFORE changing it were something like 95C on both the GPU and CPU (Which i know is a hell of a dangerous temp),so yeah.... should i be worried? or should i leave the side of the case open on PC2 and have a house fan cooling it? the temps drop down to a steady 60 on both CPU and GPU like that.

PS: oh and the reason i am even writing this post is because i want to avoid having the side case open,we have a cat that LOVES to slam his face into computer fans and chew on the highest voltage cable he can find,so yeah, that is the reasoning.

PS 2.: i know i don't write well so i will explain whatever is confusing, because i know something will be

its the ds3h right?

update BIOS on both. check temps again. none of the temps are worrying. check mounting if possible.

You sure they aren't worrying? i don't think i'v ever owned a pc that i'v gotten a blister from touching, but alright,i'm gonna have to look up how to update a bios though,no idea ^^

its below tjmax by quite a bit .

the second PC seems to have either a bad thermal paste application or poor mounting. thos 75*C is more than fine. as long as Prime 95 doesnt get too hot, then its fine.

Mhmm... but how does that explain the other pc being so much colder when on load? does the RX 480 actually cause that much more heat then 1050 TI? i mean i know AMD likes to run hot,but i'd never thought it this bad.

the rx 480 does run a bit hot, nothing out of the ordinary. your case must have very bad airflow to get the temp difference.

how does running open sidepanel affect the temps?

Opening the side panel alone doesn't do much (Talking about the side with the back of the motherboard),however once i have a small room fan running at it the temp drops to a solid 65C Max on the CPU full load, and a 70C max load on the GPU

some slow airflow then.

up the fancurve a little and see how that goes. its a suprisingly large temp difference. especially considering idle. im still suspecting mounting a bit.

And how would one up the fan curve on the case fans? the fans on the CPU and GPU are running as fast as they are ever going to (Set with MSI and the wraith software that came with the motherboard)

You adjust the fancurves in Bios. I would just leave the CPU and GPU fancurve to stock.

Besides, the temps are just fine.

Alright thank you for the assistance, though uhm.. one question,i know this ain't related to temps, but both of these PCs have errors poping up in the Device manager, three PCIE slots are reporting broken drivers? any clue?

Possibly grab the drivers from the manufacturer website and update GPU drivers.

Use DDU before any of this.

Thank you for answering, alright so i'm gonna turn up the case fans and leave the PCIE drivers alone for now,i'm getting the performance i'd expect from this rig so the GPU clearly works, thank you so much for your assistance :3
