Hi all

First post and seeking some help! any reply's/advice really appreciated

I've just tried to replace my current CPU of Intel Core i5-4570 with an i7-4790k and it wont boot, the CPU cooler fan starts, as per normal for a minute or so then speeds up really quickly making loads of noise until i pull power.

Motherboard - HP 18E7 (LGA1150) same socket size for i7-4790k

GPU - GTX 1060 3GB

Lexar SSD 120GB SSD

WD5000AAK 500 GB HD

EliteDesk 800 G1 PCC006 320W Power Supply

Could this be lack of power from my 320W psu?

Any thoughts??? i really want to get this cpu up and running!!

The hp website doesn't specifically say it supports the k skew of the 4790 (https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c03885123). OEM boards sometimes have weird restrictions on them. Do you get any error codes? beeps or anything from the motherboard?
