So. I have a
Gigabyte Aorus Pro B450 board
Gigabyte RTX 2070
Ryzen 5 2600x
Patriot Viper 2x8GB 3200mhz.

So i did these upgrades today and it went smoothly. Then i went to check my Ram Speed and it was locked at 2133 Mhz. So i went into the BIOS and turned on XMP and set it to 3200mhz. PC wont boot into the OS. Dont get a display either, just black screen, seems like a crash. Anybody know how I can achieve 3200Mhz without this issue?

update the bios first then after that you want to test 3000mhz before 3200 and see if that works.

I can do that through app center, right? and then use EasyTune so i can do it all thru windows environment? Also should i use XMP?

dont risk it, first identify what bios version you are on. if lower than F32, update to F32 using Q-flash. (through the bios) Put the file on a usb.

I dont actually have any USBs left, they all are broken. Ive managed to Update to F31, and have got the memory to 2933, anything above that and crashes. When I get a USB again ill be sure to try that.

you can save it to the root of the internal HDD, should work.

Ive got 2 drives, so which one would i install it to, my C drive or my D. I also dont really know what a "root" is. Am only 13 so I am quite impressed with myself for even building a PC aha

straight into the D drive, dont put it behind a folder or anything.

Yep, rebooted the PC, Entered Q Flash, Installed the BIOS, and seems like its worked. Thanks for your help. RAM now running at normal speed. I must say bios updates are pretty quick! Running an SSD though so probably helps.

SSD shouldnt change the speed, that was really fast. well whatever works. Open up CPUZ and send a motherboard and memory screenshot.
