For one- don't go with a 1200. You don't need thermal paste either- assuming you won't overclock. Go with either a 2200G (Second gen) or 3200G (Third gen). You also want to get atleast 3000 speed ram- Ryzen likes high speed. Also, how many mods are you looking to run?

EDIT: What is your budget?

Core i5 9600k

lots of mods hopefully

Well are you talking hundreds? I have an i7 8750H and a 1050ti- The thing can't run 200 mods. Minecraft has more than enough ram- so don't expect to be running that many mods. I can tell you from experience- I have a 2200G and a RX560 and i've never been able to run more than around 150 mods on it. So don't get your hopes up if thats what your thinking. If you're only going to have 20-50 mods then you'll be fine.

This. I have i5 3470 and gtx 1050 ti and my fps drops from 90 (capped) to 55 with 55 mods. So it will not get more mods than that with your pc then.

You'd ideally still want an SSD to install windows onto.

he doesn't need a 2400G when there's already a GPU, a 1600 would have been a better choice. the BQ isn't that good, a CX450 would be better.

That psu is quite questionable...

Also better grabbing a 1600 or so as he doesn’t need iGPU

Better grab this unit for a small price bump

I'd start with this and then save some money for a 570 or a used card
