Hello,

I have a Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-504G. Lately I am experiencing that windows is pushing my HDD to 100% and there is nothing that is using HDD that much. This is a problem because I can not use my Laptop properly. I have tried all suggestions that you can find on Google but nothing helps. If somebody had same problem can you help me fix this? I tested the Disk and apparently he is 100% OK. Sorry for my bad English it is not my native language.

Hi, welcome to the forum :)

sad story: windows 10 almost requires an ssd, had the same issues with my old laptop and seen it on other ones too. A clean install might reduce it a bit, but after a while it will be back to 100%
plus side is, ssds are relatively cheap nowadays, so quick fix would be to get a ssd and install that.

Hello,

Thank you for the replay. I am thinking to switch to SSD but I was concerned if that is a software issue an upgrade to SSD would not help. But I will tray with upgrade to SSD and i will post it if that is fixing my problem.

Possibly checking for updates/drivers/file indexing.

Virus scanners? You can check resource monitor and see what is checking the HDD.

Hello,

I have done all of that but the problem is the same.

Hello to everyone. Just to inform you after i have upgraded my laptop to SSD all my problems are gone now. I feel like i have a new laptop. Everything is running smooth and the disk is under 10% most of the time. Thank you @19_blackie_73 for suggestion. I upgraded to WD Blue M.2 SSD 500GB.
