Which CPU + GPU combo should I choose.

i5 9300h + RTX 2060 or i7 9750h + GTX 1660 TI?

Why tho, I'm afraid i5 wouldn't run well for games that uses multi cores eg fps, mmo games

I would opt for the i7 due to the lack of HT with the i5.

gpu is not the best out there, 2060 would be better. It’s a tough choice

Umm, no. The i5 has HT - 4 cores and 8 threads.

To OP: I'd go with the i5 and 2060. Better gaming performance and you don't get that much of a perf boost from two additional CPU cores compared to the GPU difference. Plus 4 cores 8 threads is absolutely fine for programming.

It's the same model from my previous post, Helios 300 being i5 + rtx and Lenovo y540 being i7 + gtx

Hmm interesting, I'm leaning towards the rtx combo as well.

My bad. I thought i5’s had no HT.

but yes 2060 is the better choice for graphical performance
