Looking for a Laptop

Hi, I will be joining university soon into a CS degree(Java and C++).Therefore, trying to find a decent laptop to buy. Have been looking around but not really sure about it.

Requirements:

Min:

8GB ram

i5

5 hour battery life

14" screen

I don't mind the laptop being heavy but prefer it slim and light

Budget:£1000(from the UK btw)

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable 8GB RAM? Fine with 13 inch?
