There's too much love for the Samsung 840 Evo. Don't get me wrong: I use Samsung solid-state drives exclusively, but, if this is about the absolute best of the best, it's clearly the 840 Pro with its faster write speeds, MLC flash, longer warranty, and the relatively recent Magician update that unlocked RAPID for Pro series owners.

yes hands down the 840 Pro is still number one but the Plextor and SanDisk are close and may be a better option. But if you want a drive tthat uses no tricks the 6840 Pro is the way to go. I think Intel really needs to get away form the sandforce controller or use their new one that doesnt need compressible data to reach the rated spec.
