Can't get sound from surround speakers.

Fasauceome

I have a Pioneer vsx-d912 and have wired 5 speakers and a sub to it, and am trying to get 5.1 surround but to no avail. I have my rear speakers in the "surround back" ports and SB CH enabled. The 5.1 setting is turned on, but it hasn't made a difference, the front speakers simply do the job of the rear speakers.

My audio source is my PC, connected via HDMI. I have an optical cable going from the TV to the receiver. The most confusing part is that this all worked before I moved, I set it up and was able to get the rear speakers as side channels with the 7.1 setting but now that doesn't work.

Something interesting of note, the 5.1 surround Dolby test on YouTube doesn't work when it gets to the LFE test, only the 7.1 test does.
