I’m not sure if my PC is broken

Hello. A little while ago my PC randomly dropped from 60fps to around 30, with no change to video settings. After lowering my settings however, it returned to 60. It was as if my computer randomly got weaker (also at this time nvidia geforce experience stopped working) I didn’t play for a while, however when I returned I could put my settings up, I unfortunately cannot remember my old settings and have no means of comparison.

This was mainly experienced on fortnite.

My computer has the following specs:

Intel i7-8700

16 gigabytes of ram

Gtx 1070

How are your temps (Check with something like HWMonitor)? Did you install anything recently? Have you tried updating your drivers?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but could you better describe how I check my temps. As for installations, I downloaded a mod for Minecraft about a week ago. Also I usually update graphics card driver with GeForce experience, so no. (If you would tell me how to do this as well it would be appreciated).
