Got wind of this forums from the PSU tier list but I'm having a hard time picking up a new PSU to replace my failing one.

This is my specs and I'm aiming at something in the Tier A list:

Hope you guys could help me make my decision. Thanks and looking forward to your insights!

Quick edit: My budget is somewhere in the $100 region.

According to that your CPU is overheating. That's probably what is causing your issues, might not be anything wrong with your current PSU.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

You could manage with a 550 watt PSU, get yourself something nice like the Bitfenix Whisper M, should top your budget off.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Speccy is known to do that with Ryzen (unless they fixed that recently)

Before arriving at conclusion that my PSU is failing I already ran both Prime95 and Furmark for 15 minutes to test both the CPU and GPU. Nothing came up with those.

I've attached a log files of everything that was going on during my stress test. You can see that my 12V rail was behaving worse than Michael J. Fox's signature.

Didn't know that. I'd still look in to that and check it in other software and in the BIOS before replacing other hardware.

What PSU do you have? Software won't show information about your PSU.

I'm currently using an XFX XPS-550W-SEW Bronze.

Why do you think you need a replacement? What makes you think your PSU is failing? What exactly are the problems you are having?

Why not tell us those things outright, instead of instantly assuming PSU is the problem and you need a new one? It doesn't have to be a PSU problem at all.

Never pay attention to software voltage readings. They are never accurate and cannot probe the power supply's outputs; the only way to measure them is to use a multimeter.

Whenever I start a game, as soon as it has finished loading my PC will reboot. Take The Witcher 3 for example, once the loading screen fades to black and I start getting control of Geralt the PC will reboot, straight to black screen with no BSOD.

I've checked Event Viewer but nothing comes up except a Critical Kernel error 41. Like I said I've run Prime95 and FurMark simultaneously for 15 minutes, memtest'd both my RAM sticks for 2 passes. Nothing came up in those tests.
