Fan questions

Quagral

I apologise as these are probably really stupid questions. I am hoping to start a new build sometime next month, and it has been a while since I've last built. Just need some advise and answers.

Basically I have ordered a Lian Li Dynamic PC-O11 and it'll be cooled by a Corsair h150i pro. In terms of case fans, I have purchased 6x ml20 fans with the intent of doing a bottom+side intake and rad up top. The thing is I have 3x AF120 from my previous build. Where is the best place to integrate these fans as I don't want them to go to waste? Also having so much fans, I have no idea how I would connect all of them together. Also is there a way where they would just titrate their speeds depending on temp or is preferable to do it manually? I am hoping to connect all of them via x570 gigabyte aorus elite. Do I need to purchase something like a commander pro or something?? Again thank you and apologies for the dumb questions.

6 fans is totally fine.

I see your case doesn't have front fans.......

Try to maintain a positive air pressure

12 total in fact including the 3 for the rad. 9X ML120 and 3X AF120. My burning question, how will I go about connecting all of them? Also from fan function point of view, is it preferred to let it run automatically or manually setting their speed.

You can used a powered pwm splitter for the pwm fans. What motherboard are you using? You can usually set a custom fan curve to minimize noise.

You could try push / pull with the ML120's and use the AF120's for the side intake. I'm not sure if that would be any better though.

Do you mind linking me such thing? I really have no idea how on earth I'll connect all these. Yes, the motherboard I am planning to get is the Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite. Would it be better to just not put the AF120s?

Where are you shopping / located?

Not using the AF120's would probably make for easier cable management and it's not like you need so many fans.

From the UK. I was just thinking of recycling old stuff hence the AF120s.

The FH-10 would work: https://www.amazon.co.uk/DEEPCOOL-FH-10-Integrated-Controller-Motherboard/dp/B077YHLDSP/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=pwm+splitter&qid=1564527356&s=gateway&sr=8-7

Alternatively, you can run 3 fans off of header motherboard fan header with 3-way pwm splitters if you want to control them independently: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazingdeal365-Cable-Splitter-Sleeved-Extension-Black/dp/B071ZMFJWF/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=pwm+splitter+1+to+3&qid=1564527643&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Thanks so much! Sorry for being so clueless. With the hub, would it be possible to set the fans on automatic titration depending on the temp? Or is it only possible with a splitter?? Many thanks again

The hub doesn't provide any form of control on its own and just splits the signal going into it. It's just a powered splitter in a different form factor.

If you plug it into a motherboard fan header, you can use the motherboard fan controls for the hub which would be treated as a single fan.
