If it works, it's fine. But you usually push in both sides at once so that you don't put extra pressure on one part

Odd, I saw one of Linus's members do it one side at a time. I always try to snap both at once but usually one side goes in before the other

I was installing 8gb of ram into my moms pc and when I installed the first side of the ram module it was a nice click, and then the second side was a louder snap noise. Is this normal? Could I possibly installed it backwards? All of the ram is detected in bios

Probably just the locking tab engaged a bit harder. Nothing to worry about if its all detected in the bios and the pc isnt billowing flames :)

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

I forgot to mention, the first time it wouldnt boot , but after reseating it(I heard the loud snap again) it was detected. Do you think these two factors dont tie together?

They could, but it might just have been a whole other issue. Ive had ram issues before like this, Where just reseating fixes the issue. Try and swap the sticks over, just to see if it is the slot or the actual stick not being right (as in a bit to big, hence the tab having a harder time snapping in)

The tab didnt have a hard time snapping in. It just was a loud snap

Might be a defect in the tab then. Maybe the spring is a little bit stronger. You never know.

I see, well the pc works fine. I reseated it again and I dont recall hearing a loud snap this time. Not sure what the problem could be. Should I be worried about it?

I wouldnt worry about it. It might just be the angle it goes in, or a pure coincedence.
