Hello all,

Long time Linus viewer, first time on the forums.

Was about to put my new CPU into my new motherboard when I managed to screw up the CPU hinge and I've been trying to get it fixed for the last 2 hours.

I can't get the hooks on the top plate thing back under the bar. I separated it by accident taking the plastic cover off.

I've tried taking it apart and threading the bar through like a door hinge. I tried to rotate the bar all the way around and pushing the hooks on with force. Now I've screwed it on to some garbage wood and I'm trying to push the hooks on to the bar, but can't get them all the way.

Has anyone ever put one of these together properly before? Everything I find is for laptop hingesIMG_20190728_002201.thumb.jpg.24604c6a2707c228f04a91ac0b839789.jpgIMG_20190728_002201.thumb.jpg.24604c6a2707c228f04a91ac0b839789.jpgIMG_20190727_233107.thumb.jpg.dbdcaeec69f538e811291a9219eb9557.jpg

Image result for lga 1151 socket

The bar doesn't go in those little notches, just the one in the center.
