Gpu Water block. Ekwb

Ok I have a GTX 1070 with not back plate. Does anyone know if I can use the normal backplate with the Ekwb GTX fe edition water. I don't want to have to get a new backplate if I can just use the black plastic one I have now that matches the black water block scheme I have.

You put the waterblock on then put the backplate back on, easy. I used the stock backplate on my Vega FE when I put a Heatkiller IV block on it, didn't want to buy a new backplate.

Lol, you’re gonna need to be a bit more detailed than that. 

 

Screws arent even close to the same size. And you have to use stock screws in order to put the back plate on. Unless you want to drill out holes and hope for the best.

In short, they are selective in the screws they use for the cool block and back plate.

How much bigger are the fe screws compared to the ek screws?

Doesn't the GPU water block attach without the need of the backplate at all? 

 

What is to stop you from just sticking it on after the fact with double sided tape or glue gun if you really want the backplate?

Think the ek are bigger. Either way you won’t be able to screw it down as the tiny screws won’t be able to go into the ek screws. I’d just wait and get an ek plate as they are very cheap with the be obsolete cards.
