BIOS Settings after update

After a BIOS update is it safe to return all of your settings to previous working order?  I mean mine is basically just all cores synced 8700k 4.4ghz manual 1.25v everything else on auto.  Set my dram timings manually for the advertised 3000mhz 16-16-16-38.
