Anyone else having issues with booting on ryzen 3000 on msi boards. Does anyone know when there will be another bios update i heard rumours that its coming out at end of this month.

Im using v19 but its just not booting no matter what i do.

I havent tried flashing v18 of bios on my b450 tomahawk yet so im pretty worried at the moment like nothings broken but i just really want it to boot

Mine works fine. Every now and then it will hang when I restart it though. I just press the power button to shut it off and turn it back on and it works. That is the only glitch  I have on my system.

Is it not booting into windows after posting, or is not even posting?

Well I guess re flashing the bios would be quicker just to see if it works. Maybe it didn't take for some reason. Maybe even try re downloading it or trying a different usb stick? If that doesn't work I would try using one stick of ram by itself, if that doesn't work swap it for the other one. And if you have different ram maybe try that just to rule that out as an issue. If none of that works I would pull the cpu and look it over to make sure it doesn't have any bent pins or obvious damage. Then re seat it and try again. I would also try unhooking everything from the motherbaord except the power supply to see if it will post that way. Like if you have your graphics card installed, drives and stuff like that. I would pull them all. If all that fails I guess I would call MSI and see if they are any help.

Acutally I would pull all that stuff to begin with when you flashback the bios. Just an empty motherboard with the power connected. No cpu, ram, graphics, nothing hooked up.

Well all that really means is your cpu worked once lol. I mean if it booted into windows that means everything worked at least once, cpu, ram, hardrives and bios. If you are really concerned its the bios though I would pull everything off the mobo  and reflash the bios, either to a previous version or the same one just to see if it messed up while flashing the first time. And the only reason I am telling you to pull everything off the mobo is because that is how I was told to do a quickflash using the button. I don't know if you have to or not to perfectly honest. I figure better safe than sorry, especially if you are having issues. Personally I didn't use flashback with mine. I upgraded from a 1500x so I already had a cpu to drop in. I dropped in my 1500x real quick just to see if the motherboard worked on the table before installing anything in the case. Then I just upgraded the bios from the original bios. Swapped cpus and tested it again. I used the 1.9 bios and everthing worked fine. It restarted several times, but it posted into bios, I set defaults, saved and restarted and it booted into my old version of windows and everything worked.

Like I said the only issues I am having is every now and then it won't restart correctly. Maybe 1 out of 10 times it hangs instead of posting. I am not having issues with voltages or high heat or anything like that like I am seeing others have. It runs at like .4 volts idle and 35-40c at idle and around 70c under a full load. I hope you get it figured out. When I switched from my old FX cpu to the 1500x I had all kinds of issues getting it running, so I feel your pain. I was ready to throw my computer in the trash for a while lol.

Ok, just read newest thread and you said kind of got it to work, disregard my above post lol. I thought I heard somewhere they might be releasing a new bios at the end of the month? Maybe try calling MSI and tell them what is going on. Maybe they have some beta version they could email you or something.

I am going to bet they get a LOT more 15 year olds calling than you think lol. And don't tell them how old you are, just tell them what its doing and ask what they can do to help. Just be polite, but don't be afraid to tell them your not happy with the product and it could effect any future purchases you might make. Even if they are of no help the worst you can lose is some time. And if your lucky maybe they can resolve the issue. I am quite sure you won't be the first person that has called them about this. Or maybe they have a live chat option too, then they can't even hear your voice.
