ITX 4 Pin?

Go to solution Solved by Denned,

There's a 8 pin CPU cable on your PSU. It can normally be split into two cables.

What do you plug into the 4 Pin connector on ITX motherboard? I'm confused, do you just plug in your 8 pin or use a 4 pin that you would use for like a video card or something.

There are cables JUST FOR the CPU powered, there is a 4 pin and sometimes 4+8 pin, that 8 pin is not a PCI-e power plug. It is just for the motherboard. And depending on the motherboard, you will either use the 8-pin or just the 4-pin alone. Then the 8-pin wouldn't be used at all.

I'm saying on a motherboard such as mine Gigabyte Z87N-WIFI where there is only 24 pin and 4 pin because it is ITX.

it doesn't need to be split just plug it in anyway it can only go one way, provided it is the CPU cable.
