Hi,

I am the go to hardware guy for one of my friends and he asked me what the best HW config would be for his workload. Sadly I have no idea about the programs he uses(other than Cinema4D because of Cinebench), so maybe one of you guys could help me? (I repost this because of a previously missing budget)

The workload in question:

  • Cinema4D: Handling of many objects and high polycount
  • ZBrush: High polycount during sculpting
  • Octane: High polycount and large textures can crash the program.

Budget is 1500€ for the system without the GPU.

Maybe some of you have recomendations as to which GPU's are good in different price ranges(sub 1000€, 1000-5000€ and 5000€+)?

Thank you for your help

afik cinema4d does very well on amd gpus, but other tools prefer the cuda cores on nvidia gpus

for work, most tools use more cores and more threads, few still favor more speed than more cores

for work at the moment a ryzen 12 cores is great, with a rtx2080ti would be a perfect combination

add 64 gbs of ram and lost of fast storage and you get a machine that will be good for at least 3 years

do you have a predilection for some brand of pc parts
