Hi, it has been a while since building my current cpu and I havent been paying much attention to technology performance and compatibilty etc. I was wondering if an i3-9100 would be good enough to stream as a secondary pc in a dual pc streaming setup? Or what would an i5 9500 add performance wise to my streaming pc? not looking to use ryzen since I have an intel discount. I also dont know what motherboards are compatible with 9th gen? would you recommend getting a gpu also? sorry about all the questions but just not sure what to get. thank you in advance!

The newest 9th gen i3 processor is comparable to older generation i5 processors but I believe that it could handle streaming as a secondary computer since it has 4 cores and threads. newest 9th generation processors use lga 1151 but only go back a year or two with compatibility if you are looking to use a motherboard you own currently. what would you use the GPU for streaming or gaming?

Also, you're fine about all the questions, you came to the right place!

I don't believe that you would need a powerful GPU in the streaming pc but it is good to have one, I don't think you need one though. if you did only use integrated graphics then using a quiet cooler for the CPU would be good due to the fact that making the least noise while streaming is a good thing.

I5-9400/9500/9600 will be better for streaming, 4 cores wont handle streaming well at all

if all you're doing is streaming, 4 cores should be able to handle it decently, but 6 cores is recommended

do you know if the ASROCK b360 pro4 supports 9th gen out of the box or  does it need a bios update? and if so how do u update bios without a compatible cpu??
