Posted July 20, 2019 so I have read a review on a site which suggest the wraith prism is better than the max. problem is the max has a tdp rating of 140 vs 105 for the prism. what I am wondering is why someone reviewing both coolers would even suggest such a difference. I mean 105 tdp chips are common from amd so why wouldn't the max be the better cooler outside of the fan control on the prism? I am a bit confused there. Posted July 25, 2019 There seems to be different tdp ratings for the Wraith Prism depending on where you look. Some state the same 140w tdp. At the end of the day, the spec doesn't affect the actual performance. The two coolers are pretty similar but the Wraith Prism being a bit taller does seem a bit better. https://segmentnext.com/2018/05/07/amd-wraith-prism-max/ If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/Also, make sure to quote a post or tag a member when replying or else they won't get a notification that you replied to them. I have a prism in my setup (R5 3600) and i wouldn't like to think how loud it gets with CPU under full load..
