So the PC turns on, the motherboard LEDs light up , the graphics card lights up and spins for 3 sec and turns off but the led stays on

I get no display and keyboard and mouse doesn't work

So things I have already tried

1)Reseating a single ram on each slot and trying other Rams on each slots

2)tried resetting the cmos

3)replaced the graphics card with my older graphics card which is in working condition ,still got the same result (so my graphics card is fine )

4)tried a different psu from a different computer which had a working psu ,still the same result

(My PC had a 750w psu and the one I tired was a 550w psu)

5)got a new motherboard and plugged everything properly and still the same result

One of the things I noticed while checking my current motherboard for anything damaged

I found 1 pin in the motherboard socket bent ,

So I fixed it and replugged everything again , still the same result

So since i have replaced and tried on different hardware , the only thing I haven't replaced is the CPU

So is my CPU the problem ?

Is my CPU dead?

Should I try other things ?

So my specs are

CPU - i5 6600k (was overclocked to 4.5ghz)

Motherboard- Asus z170 pro gaming

New motherboard ( this was just for testing ) - gigabyte ga-h110m-s2

Gpu - gtx 1070

My older gpu - gtx 960(used for testing)

Psu - Corsair cx750  750w

Psu used for testing - Corsair 550w

Ram - gskill trident z 16gb  8x2

2 tb hard disk and an SSD

Sorry for bad English not my first language and sorry for the long post

Please help

i would have guessed either psu or cpu. However, since you tried a different psu, it does sound like your cpu may be dead

Welp , I guess I'm gonna have to save some money and get the new ryzen CPU

Thanks for letting me know

depending on your use case the the 2600 is selling for around $120-140 usd ?

i am sorry for your loss

I was planning on upgrading my PC by April 20 2020, because of cyberpunk 2077

My CPU died a little early then I have hoped for rip

Just wondering if I should just use my old laptop till I completely upgrade or buy a 2600 or a 2700 now

thats up to you & your budget i guess. ryzen 3000 may occasionally go on sale, but i'd guess its prices will be pretty firm unless intel releases competition a reasonable price-point.

ryzen 2000 and 1000 have pretty good prices right now. I guess it mostly depends on how long you can survive on just a laptop, & what you budget is.. I have no idea when AMD will launch ryzen 4000 but i'd guess it will be somewhere around may-july 2020

Edit: i know you're on intel, but if you wanted to buy a cpu right now, it appears that AMD has the best cost to permanence on the market right now. It would ultimately be cheaper for you to get another intel 6th gen, but you wouldn't gain any performance. If you cant get by on your laptop, i recommend you looking into ryzen when you're ready to shop. If you go with newest gen, you'll need a new MOBO either way

I know that the new ryzen 3000 use x570 motherboard ,

Can I buy a x570 motherboard when it is cheap and pair it with 2600 and later maybe when I can afford a 3900x and upgrade to that?

Or is it just totally different socket ?

Grab a B450 tomahawk or gaming pro carbon. They are both high quality boards and have good VRM’s + cooling. After a bios update (which can be done via USB flashback on both boards, 3000 series ryzen will also work on it.
