PC in bootloop

howdy,

 

pc is in bootloop

speclist:

cpu: amd 2400g

cpu cooling: noctua nh l9a am4

psu: be quiet! sfx2 300w

mobo: asrock fatality b450 gaming itx ac

ram: g.skill ripjaws ddr4 3200

and a cheap ass pc case

 

what have i done to fix:

reseated ram

reseated 1 stick of ram

tried both slots

reseated cpu

reseated cooler

cleared cmos

 

unplugged everything besides power to mobo, cpu and put ram in, turned pc on

but bootloops after like 10 secs

 

retried everything after i put everytyhing inside the pc case and put it on a box

 

help!

Does the OS bootlooping? Or the entire board?

havent even an hdd or ssd connected

Do you know if your Mobo has the latest bios? (And yes I know B450 should support this cpu out of the box)

And possible that the Mobo doesnt like the RAM, the first and second gen Ryzen had some problems with Memory especialy with "high clocked" ram as 3200mhz.

well just like you stated: it should...

but i have absolutely no idea what the current bios is. even cleared it.

Do you have any other Ryzen chip on hand that you could swap and use a normal gpu just to test?

i have a gpu at home (currently trying to install pc at my parents) so ima try and install a gpu i guess

Yup. And try some other RAM too like with 2133 speed. ^^

First gen especially. 2nd gen work r totally fine with 3200mhz ram, was even the sweet spot

any ram you buy will out of the box run at 2133 MHz. It’s up to the user to enable xmp

how would u want to boot ur system without an OS

if no hdd or ssd is plugged it, it goes into the bios, but it doesnt get into the bios, even better: i dont even need to attach a screen because i can see the fans spinning for a while and then stopping and then spinning again... i dont need a screen or an os to see that its boot looping

im back and it is working now

i put in my 8gb ram corsair

also 3200 mhz but it is posting now

so i guess i can fix it now

furthermore: the g.skill ripjaws dont boot up when i set them anything higher than 2933

i tried: 3000 3066 3133 and 3000
