I'm about to purchase a Ryzen 7 2700x for my Asus PRIME A320M-K motherboard, and want to know if It's compatible, please help.

Yes, though boost may be limited by the VRM quality.

It may not be compatible out of the box. i.e., it would require a BIOS update, which requires a compatible CPU to do it. While AMD has a program to help people with this situation, it appears they'll only do it for 3rd gen Ryzens now (https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100#faq-Short-Term-Processor-Loan-Boot-Kit)
