Hey guys,
So I just bought a AsRock B450m Pro 4 chipset and I tried putting in an m.2 on the board that's labeled Ultra M.2 but it wont read.
There are 2 ports, so I tried putting on the other m.2 slot and it can read the m.2.
The m.2 is a kingston a400 240gb m.2 ssd
What I want to know is why wont it read on my ultra m.2 slot and only the other one? Is my mobo faulty or is there some sort of special rule?

Thank you in advance

- 1 x Ultra M.2 Socket (M2_1), supports M Key type 2242/2260/2280 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s) (with Summit Ridge, Raven Ridge and Pinnacle Ridge) or Gen3 x2 (16 Gb/s) (with Athlon 2xxGE series APU)**
- 1 x M.2 Socket (M2_2), supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module

One is Sata and one is PCI-E.

You probably plugged it into M2_1 which is NVME

And then got the second port right which was SATA

Your drive is a SATA M.2 Storage Device

 M.2 is just a connector.

I would believe your board is fine.
