Permanent Boost Clock

Fergy007

Hey

I recently purchased a EVGA 780 Classy, I have overclocked it but it is constantly on boost clock, it never downclocks even when idle.

It dose this even at stock speeds.

Is this an issue with the card or is software?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Make sure the K-Boost feature is turned off. K-Boost locks the GPU to its overclocked state.

If you have EVGA Precision, click on the voltage settings and you should see the "K-Boost" option.

I have found that Shadow play will also keep the card from down clocking, make sure you turn that off if you are not gaming.

You have to set the power management mode in 3D settings to adaptive not to high performance.
