i’ve recently built a new pc with some recycled parts, i’m going to switch out my graphics card with a new one (pc works fine right now) and i’m wondering how a fire may start and how to prevent it, just don’t want my money to be wasted. I’m also currently in a different country, i purchased the graphics card here because of the price difference and i want to bring it back to canada, would i have any problems in customs or getting it on the plane? Thanks in advance.

A fire would be caused because of your PSU, so make sure thats a high-quality one from a reputable brand. Also you may have to buy a new PSU when you get to Canada as the voltage there is 120V and your PSU is probably 240V. Here is a good one Corsair - RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

PC: Ryzen 9 5900x | RTX 3080Ti | Asus Prime B450-PLUS | ASUS ROG Strix 1000W Gold | 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz RAM | 512GB NVME SSD + 2TB NVME + 6TB WD BLACK | Windows 10 Pro + Windows 7 Ultimate

Laptop: MacBook Pro 15" 2018 | i9-8950HK | Radeon Pro 560X | 32gb RAM | 1tb SSD

iPhone 13 Pro Max | 256GB | iOS 16.5 with Dopamine 2 + Trollstore 2

I cant even really think of any way a PC could start a fire these days rather than some kind of catastrophic short or massive power problem. Any power supply made in the last 20 years will have enough protection in place to nuke itself before it manages to get either hot enough to start a fire, or short and start a fire.
